ERIE CANAL – BROCKPORT
MAY 13, 2021
The New York State Canal Corporation today announced that engineers and contractors are mobilizing to mitigate localized seepage occurring along the Erie Canal west of the Smith Street Bridge in the Village of Brockport. Out of an abundance of caution, the Canal Corporation is closing the Brockport and Spencerport guard gates and lowering the water level in this area. Updates will be provided as the mitigation and repair work progresses.

The Canal Corporation urges all users to register to receive updates through the “Notice to Mariners” notification program at www.canals.ny.gov.
