Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal - Waterford Flight

September 5, 2023

Mariners are advised that a paddling event will take place on Saturday, September 9th at 10:00 a.m. in the Waterford Flight during the Waterford Tugboat Roundup. Approximately 100 paddlecrafts will transit the Waterford Flight, starting at Alcathy’s boat launch at the top of the Flight, and will pass through the Waterford Harbor. Boaters should reduce speed, stop all forward motion, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when approaching event participants and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 MPH. Law enforcement boats will monitor vessel traffic.
