Erie Canal

   Tonawanda, Lockport and Royalton

Erie and Niagara Counties

September 10, 2021

Mariners are advised of bridge inspection activities on the following bridges over the Erie Canal:

  • Route 384, Delaware Street (E-247)
  • Route 270, Campbell Blvd (E-241A)
  • Stevens Street (E-235)
  • N. Adam Street Lift Bridge (E-229)
  • Day Road (E-225)
  • Canal Road (E-224)
  • Gasport Lift Bridge (E-222)
  • Slayton Settlement Road (E-220)

Inspection activities will occur from September 13th through September 22nd.  During this period barges may encroach upon the navigation channel occasionally. Passing vessels are to come to a complete halt and then proceed at a "No Wake" speed through the area at idle.
