Notice to Mariners

Champlain Canal - Mechanicville

September 10, 2021

Mariners are advised of lower than normal water levels above Champlain Lock C-3 (Mechanicville) beginning on Monday, September 13^th and concluding on Friday, September 17^th. New York State Electric Gas (NYSEG) is maintaining a lower than normal headpond level in order to conduct maintenance and inspections on the dam’s crest gates at Lock C-3. The reduced water levels are lower than normal but still within safe navigation limits. The reduced levels may impact local docks.
