Erie Canal – German Flatts

August 9, 2021

Mariners are advised that rescue operations are in progress for a grounded vessel, south of the navigation channel, located in the vicinity of Buoy G "505" at the outlet of Spohn Creek in German Flatts, Herkimer County. This area of the Canal is west of Erie Canal Lock E-18 in Jacksonburg.

Boaters should be aware of rescue boats moving through the area, use caution, stop all forward motion, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed.
