Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Schoharie/Amsterdam

August 6, 2021

Mariners are advised of a group kayaking event that will start at 9:00 am, on Saturday, August 7th, and will begin at the Schoharie State Boat Launch, proceed east through Erie Canal Lock E-12 (Tribes Hill), Lock E-11 (Amsterdam) and exit the Canal at the Port Jackson Boat Launch and Park. There will be approximately 200 participants in the event. Law enforcement boats will monitor vessel traffic.

Boaters should reduce speed, stop all forward motion, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when approaching event participants and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 MPH.
