Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Rome

August 5, 2021

Mariners are advised that a water ski show and a variety of regatta events that will be occurring at Bellamy Harbor Park during Rome Canalfest on Friday, August 6^th through Sunday, August 8^th from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The event area will be in the navigation channel, just east of the Rome Arterial Bridge (E-52A) over the Erie Canal. Regatta buoys will be positioned at both ends of the event area. There will be breaks between heats lasting no more than 10 minutes during which traffic may pass through as directed.

Law enforcement boats will be positioned to monitor boat traffic and safety boats will be present to direct boater traffic. Boaters must follow all instructions from the law enforcement and safety boats at the event.

When proceeding through the event course area during breaks use caution and proceed at a "No Wake" speed.

Boaters should expect minor delays and plan itineraries accordingly.
