Canal section reopened: Erie Canal Lock E32 Pittsford to Guard Locks

Notice to Mariners
Erie Canal – Rochester
July 22, 2021
Mariners are advised that the Erie Canal East and West Guard Locks in Rochester have been raised to allow normal navigation to resume through the Genesee River Crossing. Erie Canal Lock E-32 in Pittsford and Lock E-33 in Henrietta have also reopened to navigation.
Boaters should use caution when traversing the Genesee River Crossing due to strong currents and floating debris in the Genesee River. Some buoys (Aids to Navigation) may be off station.
Crews have been notified and are working to relocate the buoys.

The Canal Corporation urges all users to register to receive updates through the "Notice to Mariners" notification program at www.canals.ny.gov.
