Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Waterford to Frankfort

July 22, 2021

Mariners are advised that Erie Canal Locks E-2 in Waterford to Lock E-19 in Frankfort that were announced as closed in a previous Notice to Mariners will reopen to navigation at Noon today.

Boaters should be aware of floating debris that has been generated by recent heavy rainfall and proceed with caution, at a "No Wake" speed as some debris may be hard to see. Some buoys (Aids to Navigation) may be off station. Crews have been notified and are working to relocate the buoys.

Boaters should also verify overhead clearances at bridges before proceeding.
