Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Galen/Lyons, Wayne County

Mariners are advised of bridge repair activities occurring through end of navigation season on Lyons-Mar Rd, CR 344 Bridge (E-96), over the Erie Canal in the towns of Galen and Lyons, Wayne County.  The normal overhead clearance will not be affected. The normal navigation channel width clearance will be reduced to one half the normal width by scaffolding beneath the bridge. The navigation channel is outlined lined by white buoys.

Mariners should reduce speed, stop all forward motion, and proceed at a “No Wake” speed when traversing this area.
