Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Scotia

September 16, 2024

Mariners are advised that they may experience heavier than usual currents downstream (east of) and lower than normal water levels above (west of) Erie Canal Lock E-8 in Scotia during the day on Tuesday, September 17^th, and Wednesday, September 18^th, due to work activities on the moveable dam.

Boaters should also use caution entering and exiting the lock due to work boat activity in the vicinity of the lock.
