Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Canajoharie to Glenville

September 12, 2024

 

Mariners are advised that a group kayaking event will be held on Friday, September 13^th, through Sunday, September 15^th. The event will begin at Riverfront Park in Canajoharie and proceed east through Erie Canal Lock E-13 in Yosts, continuing through Lock E-8 in Scotia and exiting the Canal at the State Boat Launch in Glenville. There will be approximately 40 participants in the event.

Boaters should reduce speed, stop all forward motion, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when approaching event participants and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 MPH.

Law enforcement boats will be in the event area.
