Notice to Mariners

Champlain and Eastern Erie Canals

August 29, 2024

 

Mariners are advised that bridge washing activities have begun on New York State Department of Transportation bridges over the Champlain and Eastern Erie Canals. There are 22 bridges to be washed.

These activities will continue until the end of the 2024 navigation season.

Work is to be completed by UBIU Truck, from the surface of the bridges being washed.

Mariners should proceed with caution through these areas and stop all forward motion, sound horns, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed of not more than 5 mph.
