Western Erie and Oswego Canals
August 26, 2024
Mariners are advised of underwater inspections occurring on the Western Erie and Oswego Canals starting on the following schedule:
- Tuesday, August 27th – Brockport Waste Wier just west of Smith St. Bridge (E-183) in the Village of Brockport.
- Thursday, August 29th – Oswego Canal Lock O-1, (Phoenix) – Northwest and Southeast Approach Walls.
- Friday, August 30th – Erie Canal Lock E-25, (May’s Point) – Moveable Dam, South of the Lock.
The inspection areas will be marked by commercial diver’s flags while divers are in the water. Boaters should use caution and proceed at a "No Wake" speed of not more than 5 mph in this area.
