Erie Canal – Lock E-8 to Lock E-15

August 12, 2024

Mariners are advised that the Canal Corporation will be reinstalling the Erie Canal’s Movable Dams between Lock E-8 in Rotterdam and Lock E-15 in Fort Plain this week.

This section of the Erie Canal will reopen to vessels as soon as safe and adequate water levels for navigation are achieved between the locks.

The reopening will be announced in a subsequent Notice to Mariners alert.

The Canal Corporation urges all users and stakeholders to register to receive updates through the Notice to Mariners notification program by clicking here.
