Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Saint Johnsville to New London

August 9, 2024

Mariners are advised the Canal from Erie Canal Lock E-16 in Saint Johnsville to Lock E-22 in New London is temporarily closed due to the lowering of guard gates in this section of the Canal, for the control of excessive water levels from recent heavy rainfall. An update will follow.

Boaters should plan their itineraries accordingly.
