Notice to Mariners

Oswego Canal – Oswego

July 30, 2024

Mariners are advised that Brookfield Power will lower the water surface level between Oswego Canal Locks O-6 in and Lock O-7 in Oswego approximately 3 feet below normal pool for one day beginning Wednesday, July 31st, for flashboard maintenance activities on the dam at Lock O-7.

These activities will cause a temporary drop in the water level which may affect boats or docks on the pond level above Lock O-7. This reduction should not impact most recreational traffic. It is anticipated that the water level will return to normal depths by the following day, Thursday, August 1st. An update will follow when water levels have been restored.
