  Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Rotterdam

July 26, 2024

 

Mariners are advised that bridge inspections will be occurring on structures over the Erie Canal on the following schedule:

• Monday, July 29^th, and Tuesday, July 30^th – Route 103 Bridge (E-16) over the Erie Canal at Erie Canal Lock E-9 in Rotterdam, Schenectady County.
• Tuesday, July 30^th - Route 890 Bridge (E-14A) over the Erie Canal in Rotterdam, Schenectady County.

 

Channel width may be reduced, and slight delays may occur due to a bucket boat and skiff moving below each bridge being inspected.

Boaters should reduce speed, sound horns, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when transiting these areas and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 MPH.
