Notice to Mariners

Oswego Canal – High Dam and Oswego

July 19, 2024

 

Mariners are advised of underwater inspections occurring on the Oswego Canal on the following schedule:

  • Monday, July 22nd – Oswego Canal Lock O-6, (High Dam) - Southwest Approach Wall
  • Tuesday, July 23rd – Oswego Canal Terminal, (Oswego) – Terminal Wall North of Oswego Canal Lock O-8
  • Wednesday, July 24th – Oswego Canal Lock O-6, (High Dam) – Northeast Approach Wall
  • Thursday, July 25th – Oswego Canal Lock O-5, (High Dam) – Southeast Approach Wall

    

The inspection areas will be marked by commercial diver’s flags while divers are in the water.

Boaters should reduce speed, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when transiting these areas and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 MPH.
