  Notice to Mariners

Champlain Canal – Whitehall and Waterford

July 19, 2024

 

Mariners are advised that bridge inspections will be occurring on structures over the Champlain Canal on the following schedule:

• Monday, July 22^nd – Route 4 Bridge (C-29) over Champlain Canal, Whitehall, Washington County.
• Tuesday, July 23^rd thru Friday, July 26^th Route 4 Bridge (C-2) over Hudson River/Champlain Canal, Waterford, Saratoga County.

 

Channel width may be reduced, and slight delays may occur due to a bucket boat and skiff moving below each bridge being inspected.

Boaters should reduce speed, sound horns, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when transiting these areas and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 MPH.
