Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Macedon

June 28, 2024

 

Mariners are advised that paddle craft races will take place west of Erie Lock E-30 in Macedon on Saturday, June 29^th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The races will start at the lock, continue west to the Lyndon Road Bridge (E-124) over the Erie Canal and return to the lock. Approximately 30 to 40 kayaks and canoes will participate.

Boaters should reduce speed, stop all forward motion, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when approaching event participants and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 MPH. Law enforcement boats will monitor vessel traffic.
