Trail Maintenance Crew Member
In 2017, New York State launched the Empire State Trail to promote outdoor recreation, encourage healthy lifestyles, support community vitality, and bolster tourism-related economic development. The 750-mile Empire State Trail showcases New York’s special places, diverse history, and iconic landscapes.
The Trail welcomes bicyclists and walkers of all ages and abilities to experience the Empire State’s urban centers, village main streets, rural communities, and diverse history, from New York City through the Hudson River Valley, west to Buffalo along the Erie Canal, and north to the Champlain Valley and Adirondacks.
We are seeking Trail Maintenance Crew Members to help respond to the light maintenance needs of the Canal Corporation owned Trail segments through the recreation season. The Trail Maintenance Crew Member will respond to issues and help with regular trail upkeep, including, removal of downed trees, mowing, patching pot-holes, helping with signage installation and light repairs to benches, Kiosks and other trail infrastructure.
- Must be at least 18
- Physically capable of performing duties assigned
- No specific education or experience required
- Possess and continuously maintain a valid driver license appropriate to the types of vehicles being operated
