The Canal Corporation manages 524 miles of waterways for four Canals (Erie, Oswego, Champlain, and Cayuga-Seneca). The four Canals incorporate many different infrastructure components, including 57 locks and 20 lift bridges. The Corporation also maintains 22 reservoirs that are used to manage the water levels along the Canals. It is imperative that the Canal Corporation’s assets remain in good condition for the boating public and movement of goods.
The Canal Corporation’s 2005-2011 Capital Program Projects are listed by Division and organized into three groups:
- Planned - Projects in the planning/design phase and will be let in the future.
- Under Construction - Projects that are under construction.
- Completed - Construction for these projects has been completed during 2016.
