In preparation for construction work to start this fall, drawdown of the DeRuyter Dam started yesterday. Please be advised that boaters on DeRuyter Dam need to remove their boats earlier than normal this year due to planned construction work in the fall. Plan accordingly.
It should also be noted that access to the dam will be greatly restricted once construction work begins. Launching from the fee launch site at the south end will not be permitted until the water level returns to normal next year. During the drawdown period this fall, anglers should expect higher than normal flows in Limestone Creek.
